This study intended to examine the impact of art therapy using the active imagination on reducing the depression and anxiety of soldiers under special care. The subjects were two army soldiers who were classified as the soldier under special care in their units, agreed to join Camp G of Corps S in Region K, and agreed to participate in the group art therapy program. The research period started on March 16, 2017 and ended on April1 18, 2017, and the program comprised 15 sessions, each lasting 80 minutes and held three times a week. The art therapy program was suitably combined with the four steps to active imagination by Jung that Marie-Louise von Franz suggested. As for the measuring tools, the total score and subarea score of the depression scale (CES-D) and anxiety scale (STAI) were divided into before and after, and the difference between before and after was compared and analyzed. In addition, a content analysis was performed before and after K-HTP and PITR for comparison, and the hypothesis was supported through the post self-report. The result of this study is as follows; First, significant decline was found in the depression and anxiety scales after the art therapy program. Second, the expression of picture and the behavior pattern was changed positively in the picture tests after the program. Therefore, this indicates that the art therapy program using active imagination has positive impact on reducing depression and anxiety of soldiers under special care.
